Treyburn Country Club

The Treyburn Country Club is seeking an energetic, service-oriented professional to serve as its Director of Racquets & Aquatics. This hands-on, member-facing leadership position is responsible for the day-to-day operation, programming and overall member experience for the Club’s tennis, pickleball and aquatics facilities.

The Director will develop engaging programs for members of all ages and skill levels while ensuring that the Club’s courts, pool facilities and related amenities are maintained and operated according to the highest standards of service, safety and appearance.

Reporting Relationship: The Director of Racquets & Aquatics reports to the General Manager and works closely with McConnell Golf’s corporate leadership for racquet sports and aquatics.

 

Essential Responsibilities

Tennis & Pickleball

  • Plan, organize and oversee all tennis and pickleball programs, including lessons, clinics, leagues, tournaments, social events and junior activities.
  • Conduct lessons and clinics or coordinate qualified professionals to provide instruction.
  • Develop programming that encourages participation among players of all ages and skill levels.
  • Coordinate and communicate court availability, reservations, schedules and program information.
  • Promote racquet sports programs and special events through the Club’s established communication channels.
  • Oversee the condition and routine maintenance of courts, equipment and surrounding facilities.
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule and supervise assistant professionals and racquet sports staff.
  • Oversee racquet sports billing, participation records and related administrative responsibilities.
  • Manage the racquet sports pro shop, including inventory, merchandising, purchasing and member service, as applicable.
  • Monitor program participation and recommend new offerings based on member interests and industry trends.

Aquatics

  • Oversee the Club’s seasonal pool operations, ensuring a safe, clean, welcoming and service-oriented environment for members and guests.
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling and supervising seasonal pool staff, including lifeguards and other aquatics team members.
  • Ensure all aquatics employees maintain required certifications and receive appropriate safety and service training.
  • Develop and coordinate recreational aquatics programming, including swim lessons, youth activities, social events and other member offerings.
  • Support swim team programming and activities, if applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety and operating requirements.
  • Monitor daily pool operations, including opening and closing procedures, safety checks, water-quality documentation and facility inspections.
  • Coordinate with appropriate Club and corporate personnel regarding pool maintenance, chemical management, repairs and capital needs.
  • Maintain appropriate emergency action plans, incident-reporting procedures and safety records.
  • Oversee the appearance, cleanliness and organization of the pool deck, furniture, equipment and surrounding areas.
  • Communicate pool schedules, programs, policies and closures clearly and promptly to members and staff.

Leadership & Administration

  • Deliver exceptional service and build positive relationships with members, guests and employees.
  • Serve as a visible and accessible presence throughout the Club’s racquet sports and aquatics operations.
  • Work with club and corporate leadership to develop annual operating and capital budgets for assigned departments and manage operations within approved financial guidelines.
  • Monitor revenues, expenses, participation levels and other departmental performance indicators.
  • Establish operating procedures and service standards consistent with Club and McConnell Golf expectations.
  • Attend weekly managers’ meetings and other Club or company meetings as appropriate.
  • Participate in McConnell Golf training programs, seminars and professional-development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other Club departments to support member events, youth programming and overall Club initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience in tennis, pickleball, aquatics, recreation, club operations or a related field.
  • Teaching or coaching experience in tennis and/or pickleball preferred.
  • Experience supervising seasonal or part-time employees.
  • Strong knowledge of safety practices associated with racquet sports and swimming pool operations.
  • Excellent communication, organization and member-service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs and operational responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Budgeting, scheduling and basic administrative experience.
  • Current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications, or the ability to obtain them before the pool season.
  • Aquatics-related certifications or experience overseeing lifeguards and pool safety are preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as Club programming requires.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
